The determination of total water-soluble carbon (TOC) as an integral part of testing in the context of validating or monitoring the final cleaning of medical devices will in future be performed as in-house laboratory services.
The validation phase is ongoing and will be completed in a few weeks, with accreditation scheduled for January 2020.
With the extension of the service portfolio with the chemical TOC determination, significantly faster analysis results and thus shorter throughput times can be ensured in the future. The TOC determination in combination with cytotoxicity tests, bioburden determination, endotoxin tests and particulate tests is an essential component for determining the surface cleanliness of medical devices, especially after final cleaning.
